🫡 Okay…you’ve got the facts and now all you need are the supplies necessary for the long rewatch journey ahead! Don’t you worry…we’ve got cocktails and canapes (whatever that is) that’ll give you the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox…

And if that ain’t what you’re looking for, well at least they taste good and have cool names…right?

💀 The Nine

a deep, brooding cocktail that reflects the darkness and power of the hooded riders and their red-eyed beasts…

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz black rum

  • 1 oz cold brew coffee

  • ½ oz Kahlua

  • 1 dash of orange bitters

  • orange peel, coffee beans, or maraschino cherry

  • ice

Instructions

  • Combine black rum, cold brew coffee, Kahlua, and orange bitters in a shaker with ice

  • Shake well and strain into glass over fresh ice

  • Garnish with orange peel, coffee beans, or maraschino cherry

🍺 Rivend-Ale

a golden, warm beverage that restores the strength and hope of weary travelers set to embark on a rewatching adventure…

Ingredients

  • 2 oz white wine (rec: sauvignon blanc)

  • 1 oz apricot brandy

  • ½ oz honey syrup

  • 1 dash of orange bitters

  • orange peel

  • ice

Instructions

  • Combine white wine, apricot brandy, honey syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice

  • Shake gently and strain into a wine glass

  • Garnish with orange peel

🍿 Canapés (elvish for appetizers?)

🍞 Lembas Bread

a magical elf-cake forged deep in the forest kingdom of Lothlorien that can fill the stomach of a full-grown movie watcher with just one small bite (thanks to Mr. Rowdy Fraser for the recipe)…

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2/3 cup honey

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Banana leaf (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375

  • Mix dry ingredients, then separately mix butter and sugar using a whisk (until pale and fluffy)

  • Add egg, honey, and vanilla extract to butter & sugar mix

  • Add new mix with dry ingredients until it becomes doughy

  • Roll out dough to 1 inch thickness on a floured surface

  • Cut dough into squares, slightly mark the surface with an X from corner to corner

  • Bake for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool, and enjoy
